Not Quite Out of the Woods
After posting yesterday, I checked on Mom in her guest house. She was listless again, asking for pain relievers, and had a fever. By evening it was higher than ever at 101.7. I found out she had taken a Naprosyn the day before, which changed the game. Naprosyn lasts around 12 hours, and as an NSAID was suppressing her fever. So now she will let me know when she takes it, so I won't assume her temp is good. Otherwise she has been very cooperative.
Her oxygen sats stayed around 94% at bedtime, and this morning they were at 98%. She got up before 7am, took a shower and dressed on her own, ate breakfast--and quickly tuckered out, ready for bed again by 8:30am. At noon and 3pm I checked on her again; the fever is gradually climbing, up to 99.7 degrees at 3pm. Her sats were down to 92%, so I had her breathe deeply until they went up to 97%. Her window is open by her bed, to keep good fresh air circulating in her little house. It's been raining and the air is fresh.
At around noon she called to say she was having chest pains, which gave me quite a start, but they went away, and I decided against calling an ambulance.
I have run out of ivermectin, so I am switching her to hydroxychloroquine as I have a good supply. I am carefully following dose instructions from the telemed doctor. She is also now on a five-day course of azithromycin.
I had her use a nose spray dispenser with colloidal silver in it, and now her nasal passages are clear and not dripping. The dispenser came free with the purchase of the silver at Sunshine Foods.
The ultrasound humidifier still runs continuously with hydrogen peroxide. We'll see how her temp and sats are after dinner.
